Patience Brown

Patience Ann Brown (Brinkman), 83, passed away on September 17, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born November 14, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to Clarence Brinkman and Ethel Harold Brinkman.

Patience grew up on a farm in Michigan with her Father, Step Mother and older brother, Clarence “Butch”, and her twin brother, Patrick “Pat”, She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in Benton Harbor, Michigan, and later returned to Chicago. Patience married Theodore Dockery in 1966. After his passing in 1970, she later met the love of her life, Anthony Bruce Brown. They married on June 7, 1974, and built their life together primarily in Salt Lake City, where they created a loving blended family.

Patience worked primarily in production and had a gift for making friends wherever she went. She was warm, outgoing, and always willing to share her time and wisdom. Raised on a farm, she had a home remedy for nearly every ailment and was the person family and friends called when they needed an old-fashioned remedy or advice. She loved personal electronics, music, movies, and television, and her enormous vinyl record collection was so extensive that her family often joked she could have opened her own record store. 

Later in life, she found great joy in singing and recording her music to share with family and friends. She especially loved sharing her hobbies with her children and grandchildren.

Patience was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ethel Brinkman; her siblings, Clarence “Butch”, Patrick “Pat”, and sister Penny; her first husband, Theodore Dockery, her son, Edward Dockery, her daughter Tresa Aragon, and her husband Anthony Bruce Brown. She is survived by her children, Robert, Vicky, Ted "Doc", Christine, Anthony Jr., and Richard, along with her 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Patience leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, music, wisdom, and memories that will continue through the generations. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by the many people whose lives she touched.
