Parley Dennis Warr passed away of natural causes at the age of 81 in his West Valley City, Utah home on November 28, 2022. He was born August 27, 1941, in Murray, Utah to Stanley John and Mildred Delilah (Shelton) Warr.
He was raised in Granger (West Valley City), Utah on family homesteaded land, upon which, he raised his own family, sharing the neighborhood with brothers, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Dennis graduated from Cyprus High School in 1959.
He married his high school sweetheart, Dianne Gail Davis, on March 1, 1961, in the Salt Lake Temple.
He is preceded in death by his parents, eldest brother, Stanley Lynn and brother-in-law, Corey Latham. He is survived by his wife; 5 children: Dale Jay (Suzette), Laura Jean, Michael Dennis (Alissa), Timothy Lynn (Dannielle) and Parley Eugene (Nanette); 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and 3 brothers: Bonner George (Janice), John Scott (Vickie) and Frank David (Joni).
For 36 years, Dennis was a civilian worker at Hill Air Force Base performing quality assurance. He retired in January 1998. He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, notably serving at the Jordan River Temple for 15 years, as a counselor and later Bishop of the Young Single Adult Branch and Stake Patriarch of the Granger West Stake.
Dennis loved duck hunting with his family and friends, making October through December an annual event. He raised Bantam chickens for show with his brother Lynn. They participated in competitions in many states, having won Best in Show on one occasion. Dennis had a vast network of friends and family, who loved him dearly.
A viewing will be held on Friday, December 9, from 6:00-8:00 PM at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 12:00 PM at the Granger West Stake Center, 3901 West 2925 South, West Valley City, Utah. A viewing will be held at the church prior to the services from 10:45-11:45 AM. Interment at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
