Our beloved Orlina "Edith" Sanchez passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 11, 2023 at the age of 87. She was born on June 15, 1936 in Chamisal, New Mexico to Jose Leopoldo Garcia and Sofiria Arguello Garcia and was the 6th of 12 children.
On December 27, 1955 Edith married the love of her life, Jose Filiberto Sanchez. They would have celebrated their 68th anniversary this year. Edith and Jose are the proud parents of ten children: Mary Sanchez, Pauline Sanchez, Eva (LeRoy) Jacquez, Wilma (Cruz) Vasquez, Arnold (Cindy) Sanchez, Steve Sanchez, Teresa Sanchez (Paul Brown), Danny (Frances) Sanchez, Peggy Sanchez and Cathy (Todd) Orullian. She adored her large family that included 30 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Edith was a devout Catholic throughout her life and rarely missed mass. She was an active member of the Spanish choir. Edith also had many talents, including homemaking, cooking, quilting, and singing. She loved to travel and spend time with family and friends.
Family meant everything to Edith, and she meant everything to her family. Even while struggling with her health in her final years, she never forgot her family. We will never forget her!
