Our family said goodbye to our beloved mother, Nona Mitchell Allred, on October 14, 2026. Her life was a blessing to those who knew and loved her, and we will miss her dearly.
Mom grew up in the Uintah Basin as part of a large family of 13 children. Growing up in such a large family shaped her early years and gave her a lifetime of family connection, shared experiences, and memories.
She excelled in school in her early years, graduating as a student body officer from Altamont High School.
On December 1, 1956, she married Stuart Warren Allred, beginning a life together centered on family and dear friends. They were blessed with four children: Vicky Lee, Marcia Francine, Jackie Lynn, and Deloy Warren, who became the center of her life and the beginning of a beautiful family legacy. Her posterity grew to include many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Throughout most of her married life, she devoted herself to being a homemaker, caring for her family and creating a home of love. Later in life she worked for Grand Central Warehouse, where she continued working for many years until she retired.
Mom was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and her faith was an important part of her life.
She was also a very talented and creative woman who shared her many gifts with those she loved. She painted beautiful oil paintings for family members, quilted beautiful quilts, sewed clothing for her children, and crocheted countless blankets. Each handmade creation was a reflection of her talent, thoughtfulness, and love for her family and friends. She left them with treasured keepsakes to cherish for years to come.
Mom was also everything you could ever hope for in a mother and grandmother. She was thoughtful, kind, and always made sure her family knew how much they meant to her. She never missed anyone's birthday, and she did her best to support each member of her family. She was always there to share in their joys and milestones.
One of our greatest treasures was her ability to tell stories about her life, and she kept our family history alive for many generations to come.
Her love of all things western, lavender, and her favorite color turquoise were unmistakably part of who she was, and she will never be forgotten. She had a beautiful way of making everyone feel remembered, loved, and important. This is a legacy her family will carry in their hearts forever.
Mom was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stuart Warren Allred, her daughter Jackie Lynn Adams, and 10 of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by three of her children, Vicky Donio, Marcia Buxton (Blaine), Deloy Allred, 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Her family was her greatest legacy and the love she shared will continue to live on through the many generations who were blessed to call her Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma.
