Listen to Obituary

Noel Andrew Arellano, 53, of Salt Lake City, Utah passed away on May 11, 2026. He was born on April 26, 1973, in Denver, Colorado to Fabian and Darlene Glaubitz Arellano.

Noel was the kind of person who could walk into a room and instantly make it brighter. He had a gift for making people laugh and a knack for knowing something about nearly everything. Beneath that humor lived a deeply sensitive and introspective soul, someone who felt things fully and thought deeply about the world around him. He made friends at every stage and in every corner of life and counted among his greatest treasures the lifelong friends and family he loved so dearly.

He met the love of his life, Jessica Archuleta, in 1998 and married her on October 21, 2016. Though life took them in different directions, his care for the family they built together never faded.

A diehard Denver Broncos fan, Noel brought fierce loyalty to everything he cared about. He loved fishing, whipping up a meal, and the quiet creativity that came to define his later years. He had recently taken up beading, drawing during dialysis appointments, and the meticulous craft of making copper trees, each one a reflection of the artistic spirit woven into his soul. That same creativity extended to the way he carried himself. Noel had a genuine sense of style, loved to thrift, and could even crochet, always finding beauty and expression in unexpected places.

He was an excellent cook, but perhaps nothing captured his heart quite like his famous spaghetti: a recipe he crafted to sneak vegetables past his kids, which has since become an adored staple in many homes. In his final year, he was rarely alone - his beloved dog Solo, adopted and named for the life they shared, was his constant companion and one of his greatest joys.

Noel was, above all, a devoted father. He had an intense love for his children and was endlessly proud of each of them and their accomplishments. Before moving from Arizona, he thrived in his role as a grandpa, cherishing every moment with his grandson Leonidas.

Noel is preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Glaubitz Arellano, and his grandfather, Manuel Arellano. He is survived by his father, Fabian Arellano (Andrea); his children, Aunalisa Arellano (Marc Glauser), Javencio Mota (Samantha), Javier Mota, Noah Arellano (Marilyn Arvizu), and Ayla Arellano (Tito Rodriguez); his grandchildren, Leonidas, Picasso, and Therion Mota; his brothers, Fabian Arellano and Isaiah Arellano (Bree); his nieces and nephews, Navina, Adrian, Natalia, Joe, Elicio; and a wide and loving circle of family and friends.

A memorial celebration of his life will be held on the evening of May 22, 2026, at The Gathering Hall (McDougal Celebration of Life Center), 4306 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

Noel leaves behind a world a little quieter and a little less funny, but those who loved him know exactly where to find him on game day. Go Broncos.
