Nem Chan

Nem Chan, 83, of West Jordan, Utah, passed away on February 16th, 2023.

Nem was born on October 5th, 1939 in Cambodia. She immigrated to the United States in 1981, with her son, Julius, where they would call Utah her home for the rest of her life.

Nem was the matriarch of the family. She was a resilient woman with an even stronger heart. To know Nem, was to know genuine love. Her incredible love for her son, Julius, knew no bounds and extended to his family. She showed her affection through her kindness, her cooking, her humor, and the quality time she shared with her family and friends. She was very loving towards everyone that walked into her life. She especially adored her grandchildren. Spending time with her family was her favorite pastime. Her main purpose in life was to ensure that her family was happy and healthy; there was no greater gift than the joy of her loved ones.

Nem was preceded in death by her husband Sune Sem, daughter Sokkhon, son Sokkha, and daughter Ah-Srey. She is survived by her son Julius, daughter-in-law Pauly, and her grandchildren Erika, Jesse, and Erik.

She will always be a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend. Her overflowing love for her family will be passed on for generations as we honor her memory and celebrate her life. She will be deeply missed by her family and the many others that were graed with her love.
