Nancy Gates

Nancy Louise Gates, 82, of Taylorsville, Utah passed away on January 1, 2026.

Nancy was born on December 15th, 1943 to Ruth Afton Monsen and Shirrel A Borg in Murray, Utah. She was raised by her loving mother and Step-Father Robert Monsen.

She was married to the late Gerald Arnold Johnson and together they raised three children. Danny Johnson (Kathy), Sherry Titze (Rolfe) and Larry Gates.

She worked at A&R meats and enjoyed working at the Westerner for many years.

Nancy was predeceased by her Mother: Ruth Monsen, Father: Shirrel Borg, Step-Father: Robert Monsen, Sons: Danny Johnson & Larry Gates, Brother: Shirrel Eugene Borg, Sister: Gay Borg, and Great Granddaughter: Remi Jo Carver.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Sherry Titze (Rolfe), Granddaughters Tiffany Hatfield (Dustin), Sierra Ransdell (Trevor), Jordan Titze (Kolbie) and Great Grandchildren: Taylee Hatfield, Harper Ransdell, Haydn Ransdell and one on the way.
She is also survived by her Brothers: Kenneth Borg, Robert Monsen (Christie), & Jim Monsen. Sisters: Sandy Frazier (Marcus), Shirley Jackson & Joy Borg, along with many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held at Murray City Cemetery on Thursday, January 8th at 12:00 PM.
