Myra grew up on her parents' cattle ranch near Randolph. She helped out doing all of the farm and ranch work including milking cows, caring for livestock, irrigating fields, cutting hay, and herding cattle. Myra graduated from South Rich High School in Randolph, Utah in 1956.

Myra would meet her future husband, Joel LeVern Carpenter of Evanston, Wyoming on a blind date to the Stake Gold and Green Ball. She waited for Joel while he served a mission to the Hawaiian Islands. Joel and Myra were married in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on October 17, 1957.

Myra attended business college where she earned a certificate in bookkeeping. Later she would work many years in the wholesale food supply industry as a bookkeeper.

Myra is survived by her and Joel's four children. The family expresses deep gratitude to the staff of Sandstone Millcreek Care Center, Quality Hospice, Holy Cross - Jordan Valley West and Intermountain Medical Center Hospitals, who provided great care and comfort for Myra in her final weeks on earth.
