Our dear Misty Jane Horkan chose to return to her Father in Heaven on April 20, 2022, after struggling with many health challenges and chronic depression for many years. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering, and hopes she is finding rest from her many hardships.
Misty was born November 20, 1976, to Lola Jane Ringwood and David Ray Horkan (deceased). She was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Misty attended East High School and graduated from Horizonte. Misty grew up surrounded by her siblings and cousins, where they had many fun adventures. Misty had a son, Zachary David Horkan in 2011. He was the light of her life and was the thing that kept her going. She always wanted Zachary to know how much Mommy loved him. She loved and adored her son Zachary.
Misty enjoyed nature. You would often find her going for car rides up to the canyons to enjoy the beauty there. She also enjoyed fishing, beading, poetry, music, drawing, and crochet. She learned to play the guitar, which she also loved. Misty had a love for astrology, and had a star named for herself and recently for her son Zachary. Misty was caring and loved without limits. Even though many times she didn’t have much, if there was a need she helped anyway she could.
Misty is survived by her son Zachary David Horkan; parents Clyde and Jane Ringwood Latta; brothers Joshua “Zeke” Horkan, Joshua (Sarah) Latta, Aaron Latta, Andrew Latta; sisters, Holly (Soni) Langi, Amy (Jake) Mckinnon, Jenny (Jordan) Boyle; grandmothers Sharon Burt Ringwood and Waneta Ensign; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Misty was preceded in death by her father David Horkan; brother Roman Latta; sister Brandy Mitchell; grandfathers Howard Lee Ringwood, Robert Francis Latta, and Bert Ensign; grandmother Lucile Peck Latta; and dear aunts, uncles, and cousins.
