Max Sanchez, age 78, passed away suddenly on January 29, 2023.

Max was born in Los Angeles, California, to Joe Sanchez and Ersie Sanchez.  Max married Betty Lou Sanchez of Toquerville, Utah, and has been married for over 57 years.  The love birds were married in a little white church in Las Vegas, Nevada. Later they married at St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.  Max worked as an iron worker for over 35 years and was proud to be a a member of the Iron Workers Local 27.  He was a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many!  He made friends wherever he went.  He loved to hunt, fish, camp, cook, and made the best elk jerky ever! He loved his team, the Pittsburg Steelers! Both Betty and Max were known to help anyone in need and would give you the shirt off their back.

Max proudly served his country in the US Army for three years.  He was qualified as a missileman and a sharpshooter with both carbine and rifle.

Max is survived by his loving wife Betty Lou Sanchez, and daughter Leasa Maestas Socci, adopted son Ralph Naranjo, grandchildren Nicholas Socci, Anthony Socci, Kimberly Mace Allen, Robbie Sommers, and extended grandchildren, David Luna, Mariana, Kyle, Xavier, Aliyssa, and Alaiyah Naranjo. He is also survived by nieces Christina Beshirs, and Shawntell Carnell.  He also had two very special friends for life, Ben Padilla and Gary Mace. He had many friends that he cherished, too many to name!

He was preceded in death by his mother Ersie Sanchez and his father Joe Sanchez, brothers Tom Sanchez and Richard Sanchez.

Public Viewing will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.

Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South, Salt Lake City, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
