Max Martinez

April 4, 1923 — March 27, 2020

We are grieving the loss of the most amazing man, Maclovio Isidoro Martinez aka Max; a deeply loved and respected father and an adored grandfather. Max peacefully passed away in his sleep at 96 years old on March 27, 2020 just shy of his 97th birthday.

He was born on April 4, 1923 in Rio Arriba, Vallcitos, New Mexico to Victor Martinez and Maria Andrelita Trujillo. He was the second oldest of his siblings, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Max served many years in the US Navy and is a WW2 Navy Veteran. He was a very hard worker and later retired from LA fireproof doors in California and moved to Utah in 1981. Max loved shooting pool, playing checkers, reading, music, camping and watching cowboy movies.

He loved spending time with his family & friends. His best friend was Isidoro Chavez. He was an active member of the LDS church. He loved telling stories about him growing up and all the experiences he had. He truly was "the most amazing man"  -  strong, brave & loyal!

He is survived by his 10 children Ethel, Maxine, Benita, Victor, Ruth, Mary, Colleen, Anthony, Penney and Fernando.

He is preceded in death by his loving daughter Jeanette.

Max was the rock of our family and has many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-great-grandchildren who all loved him very much and admired and looked up to him.

"We can't fully appreciate joyful reunions later without tearful separations now." -a quote by Russell M. Nelson the president of the LDS church, reminding us that our lives are eternal and we hope to reunite with our beloved Max one day. Psalm 23.
