Mary Winsome Jakins 1922 ~ 2011 Mary Winsome Hancock Jakins passed away peacefully September 3, 2011, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born October 23, 1922 to Thomas Andrew and Mary Louise Thomas Hancock, in Boksburg, Transvaal, South Africa; Winsome was a devoted Wife, Mother and Granny. Married to Joseph Mel Jakins April 4, 1942. We will always remember her sweetly hummed tunes and the delicious smell of her Sunday dinners. Winsome is survived by her three children; Wendell (Julie) Jakins, Lyle (Mary Ann) Jakins, Janis (Jerry) Prowell, 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; preceded in death by her husband; parents; 2 brothers and a sister. The family wishes to thank both Legacy Home Health and Hospice and The Wentworth at Draper, who gave tender, loving, and dedicated care to our Mother.
