Mary Frances Lujan Salazar

June 4, 1935 — September 4, 2021

Mary Frances Lujan Salazar “Fran”, 86 years old, left her earthly body on September 3, 2021 to have a reunion with her family and friends.

Married Paul Salazar and was later divorced.  They had two wonderful children-Teresa Lou (Teri) Salazar (Johnny) and Micheal Paul (dec) Salazar (Darnell), whom Fran loved with a passion, and she was given two wonderful loving granddaughters, Teresa Tashina Salazar and Michelle Salazar, whom she loved more than a lot. Soulmate: Boyd Richards (dec). Brothers: Fred Lujan (dec) (Shirley), Willie Lujan (dec) (Nora), Danny Lujan (dec) Sisters: Precilla Ulibarri  (dec) (Flor), Kathy Banks (Deb), Emmalinda Thompspon (Tom), Roberta Ostler (Mike).

Fran loved snow skiing, water skiing, camping, hiking, and watching her nieces and nephews on the softball or baseball fields. She loved attending U of U football games with her dear loving companion and much-loved partner in life, Boyd. She also enjoyed singing and dancing and was very good at both.

One of the  best times of her life was on the softball field, in the late 50's, playing with the S.L. Skipettes. She was a fantastic player and teammate! Fran was a dear aunt to many nieces and nephews, loving each one of them. She was the firstborn of 8 siblings and did her best as the 'big Sister' to all. Helping each as needed. Fran, your family and friends miss and love you and you will always be held very close to our hearts.

Fran loved being surrounded by all the special people in her life.  Her favorite phone call was from, or to, her dearest friend for years, Lou. Thanks Lou. Hildy, thanks for taking Fran shopping and just riding around.  She enjoyed your visits so very much.

This is from Fran's Book of Remembrance. She wrote " As a child I loved Grandma's house and always wanted to sleep over.  I would sleep on the floor, in the dining room, and at night, when the trains went by, I would watch the shadows of the boxcars and count them.  I used to help Grandma do the dishes at the sink and look over the backyard of the duplex that my Family lived in and shared with the Rodriguez' at 610 South 3rd West".

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 26th at Aspen Landing, 6388 S Redwood Road, Taylorsville from 4 to 7 PM.
