Marv passed away December 30, 2023, at the Salt Lake VA Hospital at the age of 76.
He was born on October 13, 1947, at the Salt Lake LDS Hospital to Marvin Sr. and Helen Cardwell Van Patten.
At age 17 Marv joined the Navy and served in the Vietnam War.
Marv was hardworking and worked for Union Pacific Railroad for over 30 years.
He loved cooking, woodworking, remodeling, and spending time with his family and pets.
He enjoyed being a board member at Transwest Credit Union where he met many friends.
Marv is survived by his wife, Tammy; step-children: Tiffany, Dustin, Tamara and Tanner; grandchildren: Yuna, Cedric, Jade, Audrey, and Edison; sister, Lori Sowell; good friend, Dave Shaw; and his pets: Dolly (dog) and many cats.
No funeral services per his request.
