Marshall D. Baird was called home October 28, 2022 due to congestive heart failure at his home in Texas. He was born in Utah to Merritt Marshal Baird and Alene Russon. Active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served a mission for 2 1/2 years in West Germany and was a ordinance worker at the Jordan River Temple in Utah for 15 years.
Survived by his wife, Kathleen V. Wilson; 2 daughters: Melodie and Maria Hoyer (Gregg); 3 sons: Matthew (Carrie), Joseph (Cheryl) and Jacob (Patricia); twin brother Merrill; and 17 years later twin brothers Tom and Charles; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son Adam; father; and mother.
Marshall graduated from East High and Salt Lake Trade Tech then he started his career in automotive. He worked for GM for 32 years. He was accepted into "Automotive Hall of Fame" in Midland, Michigan and taught at Brookhaven College in Mesquite, Texas. He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
"A Celebration of Life" will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 3:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8200 FM 741, Forney, Texas, and Saturday December 3, 2022 at 11:00 am, McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. Interment, Camp Williams, Bluffdale, Utah.
