Marlene Hotchkiss (White), age 88, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah with her loved ones by her side.
Marlene was born on November 12, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah where she began a life centered on family, love, and quiet strength. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George David Hotchkiss.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: daughter Tami Lish (Mike Lish), daughter Cindy Soper (Craig Soper), and son Scott Hotchkiss. Marlene was a proud and devoted grandmother to Brandon Hotchkiss (Aly), Bryce Barnes (Jana), Danielle Driggs (Dallin), Tyler Soper (Jen), Justin Soper (Laci), Karissa Harris (Mike), Kody Soper, and Hannah Hotchkiss. She was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
Marlene found great happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved reading and could happily spend an entire day lost in a good book. She had a beautiful voice and a natural gift for singing that could have easily carried her to a professional level. She cherished her time in Bible study with dear friends, finding strength and community in her faith. She will also be deeply missed by her dear friends, David, Shane, and Kathy, whose friendship meant so much to her.
Marlene will be remembered for her love of family, her kindness, and the steady presence she brought to all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured and loved so deeply.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 10, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Summit Vista, 3390 W. Signal Peak Drive, Taylorsville, Utah.
