Madeline Wamsley, age 90, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, in Draper, Utah.
Madeline was born on October 23, 1935, in Smokey Junction, Tennessee to Levi Massengale and Pauline Lowe. She married Patrick Wamsley on June 27, 1970, and together they built a life raising their three children. She lived a long life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the simple joys that made life meaningful.
She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church for many years and actively served in missions with the church in Alaska, Texas, and Louisiana. Her faith was an important part of her life and guided the kindness and generosity she shared with others.
Madeline found joy in many things. She loved sewing, gardening, dancing, and traveling. She was especially thrilled by finding a good bargain and spent many happy hours thrifting and yard selling. She was also known as an incredible cook who could create something wonderful out of almost nothing, a talent that brought family and friends together around her table.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn (Vern) Taylor, and Kathy Steed; her grandchildren Tammy (John) VanAmerongen, Rob (Michelle) Van, Josh (Angie) Pratt, and Cori (Dan) Holma; 13 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren, along with many other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Levi Massengale and Pauline Lowe; her husband, Patrick Wamsley; her son, Larry Anderson; her great-grandson, Camden German; and several siblings and other beloved family members.
The family would like to share their gratitude to Heather Hambleton of Serenity Hospice and the staff at Legacy Village for their care and compassion.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, located at 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84084.
Madeline will be remembered for her warm heart, her resourcefulness, and the love she shared so freely with those around her.
