Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Lois Lavinia Harding Ervin, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, at her home with her family close by.
She was born July 23, 1934, in Magna, Utah to Arthur Harding and Emily Sudbury Harding. On December 6, 1950, Lois married her high school sweetheart Clarence D. Ervin. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 3, 1958. Together they were blessed with six wonderful children, five sons and one daughter. Lois loved dearly her 23 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, with twins coming later this year.
Lois is survived by her sons David (Janine), Douglas (Cheryl), daughter Diane Ervin, daughters-in-law Julie Ervin, Cory Ervin, and Leslie Ervin. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Ervin, sons Donald Ervin, Daryl Ervin, and Danial Ervin, grandsons Kody Sinfield, and Colby Ervin, her 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Lois was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Primary, Scouting, Young Women's, Library, and was an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple with her devoted husband.
Lois had many talents. She was a great cook, homemaker, poet, and especially a beautiful seamstress. She made Christmas pajamas for many years, baby blessing outfits and dresses, prom dresses, and many family wedding dresses.
Lois worked for many years at the Granite School District Central Kitchen where she managed the night shift, providing the school's lunches.
A special thanks to "elevation" hospice care, and to Diane, Doug, Cheryl, and Cory for the tender care.
