Lindy Grace Clark 1994 ~ 2011 Lindy Grace Clark, age 17, our loving daughter, friend and sister, passed away in an auto accident on August 24, 2011. She was born on April 2, 1994 in Salt Lake City. Utah. Lindy had a gracious spirit about her, was full of life, vivacious, spread her wings around everyone she met, and often put others before herself as demonstrated through her many kind acts in school. She was starting her first week back at school as a senior at AMES (Academy for Math, Engineering and Science), where she was a resident scholar having received many awards and accolades for her dedication, resiliency, hard work and commitment in both Humanities and Science. Lindy had recently received the 2011 University of Utah MLK Jr. Youth Award, received 1st place at the 2011 Salt Lake Valley Science and Engineering Fair, a Westminster Scholarship recipient, and was invited to the International Science and Engineering Fair this past May. She was an active member in Interact/Rotary Club; Student Council; Black Butterflies; GSA Club; Kids Helping Kids, and spoke out for others on human rights issues such as immigration. Lindy was always committed to helping others succeed and often put others before herself. She will forever be known as AMESian, a future scientist, and human rights advocate. Lindy had aspirations and had carved out a path to attend University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where she was interested in attaining a bachelor s degree in Public Policy, a field in which she could apply education in serving others. Lindy is survived by her father, Bryant Clark; mother, Rochelle Clark; and grandfather, Lewis Bowlin. Lindy is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and many friends. Lindy, we will forever miss your beautiful eyes, smile, and your laughter. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 31, 6:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Friends and family are welcome to celebrate her life at a viewing at 4:00 p.m. prior to the funeral services. In lieu of flowers, Bryant and Rochelle have asked to send donations to AMES for the Lindy Grace Clark Honorary AMES Scholarship Fund, which Bryant and Rochelle will present to an upcoming young female scholar at the annual AMES Award Banquet Occupation:Student
