Linda Jean Perkes passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the age of 76, in West Jordan, Utah. She had entered hospice care a week earlier.
Linda was born in 1947 in Virginia. After a difficult childhood, Linda credited her adopted Aunts for caring for her and changing the course of her life.
After moving to Utah in the 1980's, Linda met her husband, John Perkes, with whom she shared 35 years of marriage before his passing in 2020.
Linda worked at H&R Block for over 20 years, she excelled as a tax preparer and enjoyed helping her clients. Linda loved playing board games, reading novels, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her family.
Linda was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she loved attending the temple.
Above all, Linda's greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Grandma LaLa." Her face lit up whenever she was with them, or even when talking about them. Linda had a generous heart and delighted in giving gifts to her loved ones.
Linda's life is a testament to resilience, growth, and love. Despite the challenges she faced early in life, she grew into a strong determined woman who touched the lives of many.
We love you, LaLa, and find comfort knowing you're at peace, reunited with Dad. We'll see you again. Thank you for everything.
