Lilly Venema Andersen 1910 ~ 2011 Lilly Venema Andersen passed away peacefully at home, May 15, 2011. Born February 1, 1910 to Lucas and Aaltje Elzinga Venema in Ogden, Utah. Married Otto Willy Andersen March 30, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Lilly was an avid genealogist, becoming expert in Dutch research. Active in the LDS Church throughout her life, Lilly served in many church callings, but especially enjoyed her service in the Primary and Relief Society. To the end of her life, Lilly s mind remained clear, remembering birthdays, anniversaries, people and events. She was blessed with a long and fruitful life, and in turn blessed the lives of so many others. Survived by children: George (Chung), John (Peggy), Michael, Raymond (Nancy), David (Susan), and Kathryn (Stephen) Franc; 28 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband and a daughter-in-law, Janet Smith Andersen (wife of George). Funeral services will be Friday, May 20, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the Bennion East Stake Center, 5980 South 1300 West. Viewings will be held Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
