Listen to Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leonard LeRoy Warner, loving husband, son, father/step-father, grandfather/step-grandfather, uncle, and great-grandfather who departed this world after suffering a severe heart attack in his home in Murray, Utah. Leonard was born on New Year's Day, 1955, and was preceded in death by his little brother, Lynn Warner, as well as his father, Kenneth Warner, who both greeted him warmly at the gates of heaven on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Leonard had a playful, child-like spirit that was evident in the way he lit up around small children and the attentiveness with which he cared for and played with his electric train set (and other toys) which was always set up and ready to get chugging along it's track at the request of a child or a friend. He loved watching football and playing the football pot, and his favorite team was the Green Bay Packers. In his life, Leonard loved God and was a devoted member of his congregation at Christ Lutheran Church, making it a point to attend services every single Sunday morning, and genuinely enjoying them.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Linda Warner, his mother, Coral Warner, his brother, Carl (Tammy) Warner, and his sisters Kathy (Pat) Doon, as well as his daughter, Dawn, step-children, Kali Sadler (Giancarlo Acciardi/Dale Norton) and Charles Sadler, 3 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held for Leonard at McDougal Funeral Home (4330 S Redwood Road in Taylorsville, Utah) on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 16, 2026, at Christ Lutheran Church (240 East 5600 South in Murray, Utah) at 11am with interment afterward at Murray City Cemetery (5490 South Vine Street, Murray, Utah). Friends and loved ones are invited to attend a Luncheon at Christ Lutheran Church immediately following the interment.
