Lenore Roundy George

1935-2025

Lenore George left this earth to be reunited with her husband and best friend of 64 years, Arthur George. She passed away on May 16, 2025, due to complications of a sudden and massive stroke.

Lenore was born in Provo, Utah on September 20, 1935, to Bert and Thressa Roundy.

Lenore spent her younger years on the Roundy ranch in Wallsburg, Utah. This is where she learned the values of hard work, compassion, and grace.

Wallsburg is where she met Art. She and Art wrote many letters to each other while he was stationed in Germany for the army. When he finally was able to meet Lenore in person they formed an instant bond that spanned 64 years. They were married April 19, 1957, in the Salt Lake Temple. Lenore and Art shared a faith in Jesus Christ and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that was unwavering.

During this time Lenore worked many jobs while also raising 2 children. The job she loved most was working at Terra Linda Elementary School as a secretary for Jordan School District. When she and Art were able to retire they purchased a truck and camping trailer and traveled. They spent so much time together seeing the country. She truly loved this time with Art.

Lenore had many loves, but she had a few that she was really fond of. First and foremost she loved listening to Elvis. Even to her last days she was reading biographies of The King. She loved chocolate. There was always Hershey's chocolate in the house and she would be sure to offer some to anyone that was lucky enough to come and visit. Mountain Dew was her biggest vice. She would be sure to frequent restaurants that served it, and if they didn't she would definitely let them know that she was not happy about their soda choices!

Lenore enjoyed thrifting at Deseret Industries. She was always donating items and immediately buying something to replace them. There is no doubt she purchased some of her own donations over the years.

Lenore was loved by all that had the privilege of speaking to her, including the poor checkers at the grocery store. She had the gift of gab that she did not even realize.

Lenore was preceded in death by her beloved sister Maxine. Watching them together even in their last days was like watching two childhood friends. Their bond was like no other. She was also preceded by her loving husband Arthur, who she missed dearly -- she was always telling stories of Arthur's jokes and general shenanigans -- as well as one great-granddaughter.

Lenore is survived by her 2 children, Curtis and Holly George; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Lenore was the perfect example of Christ's love. Her faith in our Heavenly Father was strong. Her love of the church was unwavering even if she wasn't able to go as often as she would have liked. She is now reunited with Art and no doubt she is doting on him as she did for all their years together.

Mom, we will all miss you dearly! We love you.
