Lawana May Buckalew was born on May 21, 1938, to Mother and Father Grace Alva Buckalew and James Blaine Buckalew. She departed mortality on April 11, 2022. Lawana was raised in Garfield, Utah and graduated from Cyprus High School in 1956. Lawana graduated from beauty school and was a licensed beautician. Lawana was preceded in death by her sisters Virginia Carter, Norma Christensen, and brothers Roland, George, and Sheldon Buckalew.
Lawana was a genuinely kind and giving person. She was a very talented seamstress working for Beehive Clothing for over 38 years. She loved her family including grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Lawana enjoyed making dresses, suits, pajamas, blankets, dolls, and costumes for her family. She truly enjoyed spending time with all of them and doing crafts, playing games, coloring, and painting. Lawana had many talents and won many state fair competitions for sewing, quilting, ceramics, embroidery, crocheting, and cross-stitching. Lawana also enjoyed family history research and genealogy. We will dearly miss her loving and giving heart, her infectious smile, laughs, and constant humor.
