LaRae Ockey Shepherd

October 1, 1937 — November 20, 2021

Passed Away November 20, 2021, born October 01, 1937 in Nephi Utah to Calvin and Louise Williams Ockey. Grew up in Nephi and graduated from Juab High School. Married Dex Odell Shepherd and had three children. Marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple.  

Worked at ZCMI for five years, then worked for The State of Utah for over twenty-six years, from where she retired.

She loved spending time with her many friends. She also enjoyed going to The Festival of Trees and seeing the parade floats every year with family. She will be greatly missed and is dearly loved.

She is survived by children: Kathy (Lance), James; six grandchildren: Amber, Derrick, Amanda, Jessica, Hailey, and Jasmine; and many great-grandchildren; and brother Earl (Faye) Ockey.

Preceded in death by: husband Dex; son Craig; mother; father; brother; and sister.

A viewing will be held Monday, November 29, 2021, 2-4:00 p.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 30th, at 12:00 noon, Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
