Kristine Longman Durrant

June 27, 1953 — July 9, 2021

Kristine

Kristine Longman Durrant loving wife, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on July 9, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

Kristine was born June 27, 1953, in Salt Lake City, Utah to John “Jack” Longman and Estella Clegg Longman. Kristine “Kriss” attended Salt Lake City schools and graduated from Granite High School in 1972. Kristine married Ralph James Durrant on July 22, 1988. She worked for Utah Power and Light Co. for 27 years in the accounting department.

Although Kriss never had any children of her own, she was an amazing aunt, and a wonderful example of unconditional love to her nieces and nephews, always showing them a fun and wonderful time. Kris had the warmest and biggest heart and would do anything for anyone. She did many acts of kindness helping many in need, never wanting anything in return.

Kriss and Ralph enjoyed many vacations traveling in their 5th wheel trailer. Some of their favorite places to visit were, Disneyland; Southern Utah; Boston; Mt. Rushmore and Hawaii. Kriss had an incredible bond and love for all animals, but she had a very special love and place in her heart for her English Bulldogs. For over 35 years she bred, raised, and showed. Her dogs won many awards and ribbons. She belonged to the English Bulldog Club of Utah where she enjoyed making many friends with members of the club. She enjoyed planning and organizing many of the Club’s luncheons and socials. She was affectionately called the “Hospitality Queen” by the club members.

Kriss enjoyed working at the Reams Food Store in Kearns in the bakery department. She enjoyed the many friends, fellow employees, managers, and customers that she worked with and served. One of the saddest things in Kriss’s life is when she lost her best and dearest friend Claudia Noffsinger. They had been friends since the 6th grade and remained friends for more than 60 years, they were more like sisters then friends and did everything together. Claudia was like a member of our family!

Kriss is preceded in death by her parents John “Jack” Longman and Estella Clegg Longman; infant brother Stephen Longman; brother Michael J. Longman; nephew Mark H. Longman; and dear friend Claudia Noffsinger.

She is survived by husband Ralph James Durrant; brothers Earl J. Longman (Norma); Dale H. Longman (Joyce); sister-in-law Annette Spendlove Longman; and many nieces and nephews; her stepchildren Jacqueline Clawson,  Leisa Robinson, David Durrant; and her 5 grandchildren.
