Kent Ferguson

Kent Irvine Ferguson, age 81, of Montgomery, Texas passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025 surrounded by family.

Kent was born on November 10, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Susan Helen Irvine and Donald Max Ferguson.

Kent graduated South High in 1962 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree at Brigham Young University. He served a two year mission in Ireland for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in what was known at that time as the Irish Mission.

He married Claudia R. Wenzel on August 25, 1967 in the Salt Lake City temple.

Kent was a veteran of the United States Air Force having dedicated 20 years of service as a commissioned officer before retiring. He also spent 25 years in the motor freight business.

Kent is survived by his three children, Susan, Kristin ,and Andrew(Jackie) two grandchildren, Scarlette and Lucas; and two brothers, Larry (Annette)

and Max (Aleta) and their families.

He was preceded in death by his wife Claudia, parents Don and Sue (d. 1945), and Cleone "Toni" Fox Ferguson.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 10:00am at the Elysian Burial Gardens located at 1075 E 4580 S, Salt Lake City, UT.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Kent to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org).

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home of Taylorsville, Utah.
