Kenneth Lawrence Egbert

February 15, 1960 — July 31, 2016

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Kenneth Lawrence Egbert, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, July 31, 2016, with his sweet wife and family surrounding him. Family was one of Ken's greatest joys. Ken was a loving husband to his wife, and a devoted father to his nine children; four of which were waiting to greet him on the other side when he passed. He loved and truly enjoyed playing with each of his nine grandchildren. He had an incredible sense of humor and loved doing things to make his kids and grandkids laugh, but he didn't stop there. Ken enjoyed entertaining friends, and anytime friends or family were over at their house, he would tell jokes or funny stories until everyone was laughing. Ken was a builder/contractor by trade, and was very meticulous with his building projects. One of his final accomplishments was his home that he built in Riverton, for his family and the love of his life. He and Shirlene and their children worked until late in the vening for several months in order to complete and move into their beautiful dream home. One of Ken's favorite things to do was work in the temple. He loved working in and being in the temple, and he served as a temple worker for five-and-a-half years. Church service was one of Ken's defining qualities, and he was the happiest when he was serving. He served in several Elders Quorum presidencies, Young Men presidencies, and in Scouts. Ken's hobbies include woodworking, cars and car shows, fixing things, playing games, and he really looked forward to the yearly family camping and watersports trips. Ken is survived by his loving wife, Shirlene Egbert,; daughters, Megan (John) Simper, Lindsey (Scott) Ebert, and Kara Egbert; sons, Ben (Sidney) Egbert, and Jordan Egbert; nine grandchildren, brothers, Max (Tammy) Egbert, and Scott (Jodi) Mitchell; sisters, Debi (Boyd) Baggett, and Peggy (Keith) Thomas. He was preceded in death by sons, Preston Egbert, Mark Egbert, Cameron Egbert, and Michael (Meisha) Egbert; sister, Pam (Kim) Howard; brother, Michael James Egbert; parents; Judy Ann Andrews and Donald James Egbert; grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.
