Kenley Ray Taylor
December 26, 1942 - June 29, 2025
Kenley Ray Taylor passed away peacefully June 29th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and devotion to his family. Born on December 26, 1942 to Norman and Katherine Taylor, Ken and his twin sister Kaylene quickly became known throughout Rose Park Utah as the beloved "Taylor Twins." He was proud to be a graduate of West High School and was a lifelong Panther at heart.
One of Ken's most treasured life experiences was serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ireland. He often spoke with deep admiration for his mission and mission president, the late Stephen R. Covey, whose leadership left a lasting impression on him.
On August 17, 1966, Ken married the love of his life, Susan Mae Heller, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised four sons, who were his pride and joy. Ken briefly served in the Utah Air National Guard before dedicating his entire professional career to Restaurant and Store Equipment Company in Salt Lake City, where he was celebrated as their top salesman for many years.
Ken was a dedicated disciple of Christ who found great joy in serving others. A devoted member of the Taylorsville Utah Valley Park Stake, he spent countless hours caring for the members of his ward and stake, as well as designated church buildings. Whether mowing the church lawn as a High Councilor, shoveling sidewalks for elderly neighbors as a Bishop, or offering counsel and comfort as a member of the Stake Presidency, Ken served with quiet dignity and unwavering commitment. He bore a firm testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and often shared his deep respect and love for the Prophet Joseph Smith. Ken was proud to have personally met every prophet of the LDS Church from George Albert Smith to Russell M. Nelson.
While his faith was the foundation of his life, Ken's most treasured possession was certainly his family. He also took delight in a precisely cross-cut lawn, a spotless car, and a polished pair of Florsheim shoes.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Susan, and their sons: Michael (Lynette) Taylor, Robert (Atalie) Taylor, Jeffrey Taylor, and Matthew (Brooke) Taylor. His beloved grandchildren: Emma, Ethan, Brooklyn, Sean, Chloe, Kate, Joseph, Izzy, Lilly, Sam, June and Ben. He is also survived by his sisters Kaylene Rushton, Pamela (Neil) Youngberg, and Cindy Taylor Banner.
