Our beloved Junie-wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend-passed away peacefully on October 20, 2026, at the age of 98, leaving behind a lifetime of beautiful memories and a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family.

June was born on June 7, 1928, in Granger, Utah to Arthur Vern Warr and Ruth Elizabeth Hansen Warr. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving extended family, including her beloved sister, Lavon (Bonnie) Curlis, with whom she shared a special bond. June often spoke fondly of her childhood in Granger, which she described as the very best childhood anyone could have. With cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and friends always nearby, there was never a dull moment. She affectionately referred to the family property, originally homesteaded by her grandfather, as "Warrville." She was incredibly proud of her family heritage and the wonderful memories made there.

June attended Monroe Elementary School and graduated from Cyprus High School in 1946. Even as a young woman, she was beautiful, intelligent, ambitious, and had a remarkable sense of style. While attending high school, she worked for the Civil Service at the Tooele Army Depot, supporting the war effort during World War II. She later worked for the Veterans Administration, processing benefits for veterans, including those returning from the war. June excelled as an executive secretary and administrative assistant and was highly valued for her intelligence, professionalism, and dedication.

Following high school, June attended a Salt Lake City modeling school, where she received a certificate and appeared on early television in 1948, modeling for local department stores and fur salons. Her love of fashion remained with her throughout her life. Mom was a Diva before Divas existed. She loved pretty things and wearing pretty clothes. She loved dressing up and wearing high heels. She always prided herself in having a beautiful appearance. She had a timeless sense of style. She was beautiful, classy, intelligent, and sharp as a tack. She always had her purse, hairspray and lipstick on hand. Even at 98 years old, June maintained her elegance, grace, and impeccable sense of style.

In 1948, June met the love of her life, C. Richard "Dick" Merrill. They were married on September 15, 1949, beginning a beautiful love story that would span 61 wonderful years. Together, they raised three children, Kris, Jeff, and Marty, who were the center of their world.

June and Dick shared a truly special relationship. They were not only husband and wife but the very best of friends. They genuinely enjoyed one another's company and loved traveling, going on drives, and experiencing life's adventures together. Some of their favorite memories were made during spring and fall vacations to Lake Tahoe, Carmel-by-the-Sea, and other beautiful destinations. Their marriage was a wonderful example of lasting love, friendship, and devotion.

Following Dick's passing, June missed him deeply every single day. She could tell you exactly how many days, hours, and even minutes she had been without him. Her love for him never faded, and her family finds great comfort in imagining their beautiful reunion after so many years apart.

June's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved unconditionally and treasured every opportunity to be together. She delighted in holidays, gatherings, and the simple traditions that brought everyone together and created countless memories that will be cherished for generations.

June was remarkably intelligent and sharp, with a keen interest in current events, the news, and the world around her. She enjoyed game shows, especially Jeopardy, which she and Dick loved watching together. She was sentimental and treasured photographs, family memories, and the stories of those she loved.

Above all, June will be remembered for her kindness, grace, and the genuine respect she showed others. She rarely had an unkind word to say about anyone and believed in treating people with warmth and consideration. She was beautiful inside and out, a classy and gracious woman whose greatest happiness came from loving and being loved by her family.

Though she will be dearly missed, her family takes comfort in knowing that she is finally reunited with her sweetheart, Dick, her parents, her beloved sister Bonnie, and the many loved ones who went before her.

She was taken from our lives, but not from our hearts.

A graveside service will be held by immediate family.
