A beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend was called home to her Heavenly Father’s loving care, shortening her “long goodbye” as a tender mercy on June 22, 2026. Judy is survived by her husband, Douglas Moncur, of 58 years, and two of her three sons, Scot (Beqi) and Jason. She is proceeded in death by her youngest son, Travis, her sister Vicki, and both of her parents, Ilene Beckstead, Junior Steadman, and her stepfather Daniel McDougal.
Judy was born June 29, 1949, in Murray, Utah, to Ilene Beckstead and Junior Steadman. She grew up in South Jordan, Utah, with her older sister, Vicki, and younger brother, Randy. They moved to West Jordan after the marriage of Ilene to Daniel McDougal, January 30, 1964, when she gained additional siblings Claudia, Linda, Guy, and Danny. Judy graduated from Bingham High School in 1967. Judy met the love of her life while in Junior High School when curious young boy entered a classroom and turned to the back of the class and saw the cutest red head smiling back at him. That smile developed a union that continued for over 58. Their journey would later take them to places all around the world to many different cities and countries.
They were married and sealed for all time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on May 1, 1968, after Doug had returned home from his Army Basic Training. After they were married, they started their adventures together traveling to New Jersey for Doug’s additional training. After his training Doug spent the next 19 months in Korea. A few months after his departure Judy had their first child Scot. During this time, she resided with her Grandparents in South Jordan. Judy was always strengthened and supported throughout her life by numerous Aunts, Uncles and extended family who she loved dearly.
During their time together, their second son, Jason, was born while living in Glendale Arizona. They then ventured on to a brief stint to Boston before being transferred to Minnesota where her third son, Travis (TJ,) was born. It was at this time she was able to overcome a brief scare with skin cancer. Together they developed many friendships and helped many families within the Church and within their neighborhood.
After 12+ years in Minnesota, Doug took a new job with Boeing in Mesa, AZ. In 1999, they had an exciting and wonderful opportunity to work in the UK, which lasted for 4 years. Judy absolutely loved being in the UK. While there she met so many wonderful people and developed so many lifelong friendships (you all know who you are, each one of you), and acquired a taste for her new favorite dessert, banoffee pie, and her favorite meal was now Palmers Fish & Chips. During this time, she travelled to many different countries throughout the world with her soulmate and created many beautiful and cherished memories.
Judy was a very proud Nana to 14 grandchildren (6 boys and 8 girls) and 7 great-grandchildren (1 boy and 6 girls). She was also a very proud dog mom and dog grandmother. She loved her animals. Always feeding them just a bit of her dinner.
Judy’s devotion to her family and friends knew no bounds. Judy loved serving others. She had a caregiver’s nature but also a stubborn side when it came time for her to have that caring service reciprocated. Always willing to give, but apprehensive to receive—just her nature.
She will truly be missed here but we know she is reunited with Travis, her older sister, Vicki, her mother and her extended family and friends that are welcoming her home to start her next journey.
Celebration of life will be held at the LDS church at 10115 S Yorkshire Drive, South Jordon, UT 84009 on Saturday, June 27th, at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, Judy would love to have donations sent to Best Friends Animal Society.
