John Wayne McNeil

John W. McNeil Thanks for the Warning John Wayne McNeil, 75, passed away October 29, 2011 after a short battle with cancer. He was strong and a fighter. Born November 11, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of John Arthur and Mary E. Mecham McNeil. Married his loving wife, Lois Tonge, 54, years ago. John was always active and involved in something. He served in the US Army infantry and was commander of the honor guard. He owned his own landscaping and handyman business for many years. He was proud of his work at Geneva Rock, was steward of the Teamsters Union for 15 years and president of MADD after losing his son, Harold, to an alcohol related accident. Survived by wife, Lois; children: Mike (Leslie) McNeil, Beverly McNeil, John McNeil; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; children: Tanya (David) Workman, Rhonda Loertscher, and Harold McNeil. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 3, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where viewings will be held Wednesday, 5-7 p.m. and Thursday, 12-12:45 p.m. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
