Joann Memmott

July 23, 1934 — October 11, 2025

Joann Elizabeth Enders Memmott

1934 -2025

Joann Memmott, age 91, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, returned peacefully to her Father in Heaven on Saturday October 11, 2025 in South Jordan, Utah.

Joann was born July 23, 1934 in Progress, Pennsylvania to George Warren Enders and Clara Elizabeth Jones. She was the 6th of eight children and spent her childhood in Pennsylvania where she learned the value of hard work and the importance of family. She graduated from Susquehanna High School in May of 1953.

Joann met her "cowboy," Crae, at a USA Dance while he was stationed at Middletown, Olmstead Air Force Base. They started dating shortly after and were together every weekend until Crae was discharged from the Air Force and returned to Utah.

After visiting Utah and getting engaged in 1956, she returned and married Crae, September 15th in Scipio, Utah. They were sealed November 1957 in the Manti, Utah Temple; marking the start of a remarkable love story that endured 69 years.

Joann and Crae raised their five children: Craelene, Shauna, Joel, Steven and Karla in Kearns, Utah. Joann was a devoted mother and grandmother who found joy in caring for her family. She was a phenomenal baker and cook, no one ever left her home hungry. Grandma JJ knew how to make holidays and family gatherings a special time for everyone.

Joann transferred from Pennsylvania to Utah as a phone operator for Mountain Bell where she worked until she had her first child. She worked in the food service industry for many years. She did school lunch so she could be home with her kids and later worked at Utah Food and Catering.

Joann was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints. She served in many callings, but her most rewarding were as a nursery leader and Relief Society President. She was a great example of Christ-like love and had a talent for making everyone feel welcomed and loved.

She is survived by the love of her life, Crae, her five children and their spouses; Craelene (Steve) Clark, Shauna (Marty) Kraft, Joel (Sherry), Steve (Crystal), Karla (Rick) Mattinson; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren, and sister-in-law Charlotte Enders.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Don, Paul, Ralph, Vincent and Dick Enders; sisters Verna May Lukens and Renie Wolford.

Our family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the Carrington Court Memory Care Unit and Active Hospice for providing care for Joann.
