Jesse Elijah Afuvai

Jesse Elijah Afuvai, a vibrant soul whose laughter and love left an indelible mark on all who knew him, passed away on July 30, 2026. Born on March 10, 1996, in Pender, Nebraska, Jesse was the beloved son of Ailafo Afuvai To'omalatai and Ronald To'omalatai. His life, though brief, was rich with connection, joy, and a fierce dedication to the people he cherished.

Jesse graduated from Horizonte, though he held East High School close to his heart, where he formed lifelong bonds with his teammates and friends while playing football and rugby. His passion for sports was matched only by his love for family. Jesse was happiest when surrounded by those he loved, and he was known for his infectious smile, hearty laugh, and the joy he found in dancing.

A skilled concrete finisher by trade, Jesse took great pride in his work, approaching each task with the same enthusiasm and commitment that he brought to all areas of his life. His love for adventure was evident in his passion for motorcycles, a love that blossomed when he was gifted his cherished bike, Dodger. His rides were a testament to his free spirit, one that could never be confined.

Jesse's interests extended beyond the road. He was a cherished member of the Poly Ridaz bike club, first joining the Southern Chapter before moving up to the Northern Chapter. In recent years, he found a new joy in fishing, often spending peaceful hours by the water with his brother.

Jesse is survived by his mother, Ailafo Afuvai To'omalatai (Ronald); his brother, Jadin Afuvai; his sister, Anaya Afuvai To'omalatai; his three nephews Amazaiah, Anubis and Khamari; many other siblings who loved him dearly; aunts, uncles who loved him dearly. He now joins his predeceased grandparents, James and Magdalena McDermott, Polo and Lupe Afuvai; his grandfather, Dana Polo Afuvai; and his uncle, Dana Polo Afuvai Jr., who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.

A celebration of Jesse's life will take place at 8:00 PM to 12 AM on August 22, 2026, at the Sugar Space Arts Warehouse, located at 127 Jeremy St, 840 West. The family extends an immense gratitude for the outpouring of love and support they have received, and they wish to express how deeply they feel embraced by the community.
