Jerry Thompson, born on July 4, 1958, was the beloved son of Roberta and Marvin Thompson.
A deeply patriotic individual, he held immense pride in his country. A cherished tradition from his childhood through his final birthday was celebrating the Fourth of July at Murray Park.
Jerry was a remarkable individual with a wide circle of friends. He found joy in fishing, motorcycling, and automotive work. He treasured his family, particularly the time spent with his 14 grandchildren: Travis, Kage, Shantel, Ashley, Jade, Kassi, Skiler, Aliza, Jacob, Jacks, Abby, Evarain, Phoebe, and Emilee, as well as his four great-grandchildren: Kali, Chloe, Kaden, and Lucy.
His distinctive laugh was unmistakable, always signaling his presence. A particularly missed gesture will be the chocolate oranges he generously distributed to everyone each Christmas. He will be profoundly missed by his children: Jerry (Anna), David (Tasha), and Tina (Joe).
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Taylorsville 2nd ward, 1250 West Atherton Drive, Taylorsville, Utah
