Jeremy

Jeremy “Chubz” Jacquez passed away on January 9, 2021, after a seven-month battle with pancreatic cancer, fighting courageously until the end, surrounded by his loving family.

Jeremy was born on June 2, 1980 in Kearns, Utah. He attended West Jordan High School and graduated in 1998. He was a lifelong resident of West Jordan and bought the house he grew up in, so he could raise his family in the same area. He was an active member of the Catholic church and was in the Knights of Columbus.

Jeremy met the love of his life, Nicole Felix, in October 2012 while deer hunting with friends. They later married on October 20, 2018 so they could celebrate their marriage and passion for hunting and the outdoors together. He lovingly joked he had the easiest anniversary in the world.

The light of Jeremy’s life was born in July 2014. Mia was Jeremy’s world. He loved being a father and enjoyed every minute with her. He was always doing something with his mini-me and his partner-in-crime rarely left his side.

Jeremy had an outstanding relationship with his family, never letting a day pass where he didn’t call or visit his parents, siblings or relatives.

Salt Lake City knew Chubz. Jeremy was the life of the room and was loved for his big heart and bigger personality. He was the person you could always count on to lend a hand, fix any problem or be the first one for an adventure. Jeremy couldn’t help but make friends anywhere he went. He was loved by everyone and was the rock we could lean on.

Jeremy’s passions were hunting, fishing, camping, sports and his beloved Miami Dolphins. Jeremy was a true family man, teaching the value of family and friendship to all of us.

Jeremy was welcomed into Heaven by his grandparents Jose “Joe” Jacquez and Patsy Chavez Jacquez; aunts: Elenore J Romero and Peggy Sanchez; uncles: Joseph “Eddie” Jacquez and Ike Romero; and several family and friends.

Jeremy’s legacy will live on through his wife, Nicole Jacquez; daughter, Mia Jacquez; parents, LeRoy and Eva Jacquez; siblings: Peggy (Roberto) Archuleta, Jaclyn Jacquez, Macheala Jacquez, Joseph Jacquez, and Deidre Jacquez; nieces: Angelina Sanchez, Constance Archuleta; nephew, Roberto Archuleta Jr; grandparents, Jose F. and Edith Sanchez; and his many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, numerous friends and lives he has touched.

“Doctor said he ain’t got long, He just smiled said bring it on, Well if you think I’m scared

You got me all wrong, No a little cancer can’t break me, My heart’s right and I believe

We all hit our knees, And started prayin’, Naw he never gave up, Said the good Lord’s waitin’”
