Janice Morgan

February 1, 1942 — June 19, 2023

Heaven welcomed an elect lady, Janice Morgan, on June 19, 2023, at the age of 81. She lived life to infinity and beyond!

Janice was born February 1, 1942, to Iris Bell and Mable Gerrard Morgan. She is survived by her brother Vernon (Carol) Morgan and brother Keith (Kay) Morgan and many nieces and nephews that she loved and whose lives she touched with her endless support.

She graduated from Granger High in 1960 and graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1965.

After graduating from BYU, Janice decided that she was ready to take charge of her life and make a difference in the world. She did this with her teaching career. For 15 years she inspired the minds of many children. Her goodness is also found in what she accomplished while working for West Valley City as a Secretary and Administrative Assistant for 15 years to Joe Moore. The crowning achievement of her career was when she became Secretary to the Director of the Polynesian Cultural Center, Pres. Lester Moore and then Pres. Von Orgill. Janice immersed herself in the workings of the PCC for 9 years and embraced the Hawaiian culture. She loved the islands and the people. Her legacy can still be found in the hearts of the Hawaiian community.

The world was her canvas and she painted it with a passion for travel. She embarked upon several trips to Jerusalem with her last adventure being to the Rome Temple Open House. She also loved a good party, and she opened her home to hosting many family get-togethers, neighborhood gatherings, and the famous "Christmas Open House." Oh, how her family and friends will miss her wonderful smile and delicious Christmas cookies.

Janice treasured her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a firm testimony in her Savior Jesus Christ. Her life reflected the scripture found in Mosiah 2:17. Janice filled her life with service to others, and to being the Lords hands here upon the earth. She accepted many church callings. Three of her cherished callings were: spending time in the wonderful outdoors at girls camp with the Young Women, leading the church choir, and rejoicing in her covenants as she served as an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple for many years.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Iris and Mable Morgan, brother Marloe Gerrard Morgan, sister LaVell Morgan Bennion, sister Elaine Morgan Wilding, nephew David M. Morgan, and niece Joyce Morgan Riding.

Keith, Kay, and the Morgan family want to express gratitude to Ovation Memory Care and Suntree Hospice Care for their tender, loving care on behalf of Janice.
