Jacquelyn Matthies Shoop (Jackie)

Age 79, passed away peacefully at home, on July 30, 2025, in Taylorsville, Utah.

Born on September 6, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Jackie was the beloved daughter of Charles G and JoAnn Whitaker Matthies. She grew up surrounded by a large family that included five brothers and two sisters.

Jackie is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Jim; her son, Randy (Margie); her daughter, Penny; four grandchildren, (Garrison, Sophie, Koda, Jason) and her two great grandchildren, (Avery, Marshall).

For 25 years, Jackie worked as an Avon representative-a role she embraced wholeheartedly. Her dedication to her work went far beyond sales; she cherished the long term relationships she built with her customers and community. Her success with Avon not only brought her professional fulfillment but also allowed her and Jim to travel on many memorable trips sponsored by the company-experiences they treasured together. She won several awards for sales.

A lifelong fan of University of Utah Football, Jackie's enthusiasm for the game became a cherished family tradition. She and Jim held season tickets for an impressive 45 years, attending countless games side by side. Their passion for football extended across generations as they shared this love with their children and grandchildren, often traveling together to Bowl games to cheer on their team.

August 8, 2025, at 12:30 PM at McDougal Life Celebration Center 4330 South Redwood Road. Memorial Service at 1:30 and Graveyard Interment at 2:30
