Jacqueline Addy Alger

Jacqueline Addy Alger, 89, of West Valley City, passed away Sunday February 21, 2021.

Jacqueline was born in Huddersfield Yorkshire England to John Addy and Edith Lindley on April 20, 1931. She was the only child in her family and was raised by two very loving parents.  She had a very happy upbringing.  Growing up she regularly attended the Church of England.  At the age of 19, Jacqueline and her friend Mary stopped and listened to some missionaries teaching in the marketplace.  She was interested in what they were saying and later became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 

On March 21, 1957 she married her eternal companion, Glenn Price Alger in the Salt Lake City Temple.  Together they lovingly raised six children and spent 64 wonderful years together growing closer and closer as companions.

Jacqueline made her house a peaceful and loving home.  Every visitor was cheerfully greeted in a kind and loving way.  She gave her family members warm and genuine hugs when they arrived and made everyone feel loved and important.  If you ever left her home hungry it was your own fault, because she always had plenty of good food that she would offer and make no matter what time of day or night it was.  She was quick to observe and quick to love.  There was not a selfish bone in her body.  Her whole life was dedicated and focused on others and what they needed or wanted.  One would simply feel better after spending any amount of time with her.

Jacqueline is survived by her husband, Glenn (92); children, Lee (Stephanie), John (Patty), Susan (Darwin), Ruth (Quinn), Steven (Michele), and Gary (Heather); along with 32 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, February 25^th at the Jordan View Ward building.  Because of Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral will be attended by family only.  As a courtesy to others wishing to participate, the funeral service will be available via zoom:
