Helen Jackson Robbins

January 28, 1930 — May 23, 2026

Listen to Obituary

Helen Jackson Robbins, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026. Like Nephi of old, she was born of goodly parents, Dorrell Philo Jackson and Lila Gines, on January 28, 1930, in Kamas, Utah.

Helen was a dedicated student, graduating from South Summit High School before attending Utah State University and Brigham Young University with scholastic honors. She faithfully served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Missouri Central States Mission (covering Columbia, Independence, and Kansas City), where she also served as Secretary to the Mission President, J. Orval Ellsworth.

On April 8, 1955, Helen was married to Grant L. Robbins for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple, a sacred ceremony performed by Apostle Mark E. Petersen. While Grant attended chiropractic college, Helen worked as a bookkeeper and executive secretary, a time in her professional life she thoroughly enjoyed. Together, they blessed the world with six children.

As a mother, Helen was the true center of the Robbins family. For many years, she hosted weekly family dinners-a cherished tradition and act of service that forged unbreakable bonds between her children, cousins, and extended family.

Aside from her family, nothing mattered more to Helen than the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A lifelong, faithful member of the Church, she shared her deep love of music by serving as the Ward Organist and teaching piano lessons for many years, enhancing the lives of all who heard her play.

Helen held a special love for her friends in the West Jordan 28th Ward. She often recounted how she had fasted and prayed before moving into that blessed neighborhood. Following the passing of her husband, Grant, in 1991, her ward family watched over her with a devotion for which she was eternally grateful.

Her children cherished her deeply. For the last couple of years of her life, Helen lived with her youngest son, John, and his family. She felt immense appreciation for their loving care, and for her other children who came to visit and assist her weekly. She was also deeply grateful for her grandchildren and many friends who visited her on occasion, bringing much joy to her days.

Helen's great example of love, sacrifice, and devotion will be deeply missed. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Grant; her three sisters, Emma (George) Smith, Jessie Jeanne (Jack) Wright, and Colleen (George) Turner; and her daughter-in-law, Kim Robbins.

We celebrate her beautiful life with reverence, knowing she is now happily reunited with her dear husband, family, and friends. There is no doubt she rests peacefully in the presence of God and our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Helen is survived by her six children: Michael (Liz), Paul, Lori (Robert), Mark (Kirstin), Tammy, and John (Christina); as well as 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
