Greg Dee (Romrell) Jonas was born on September 28, 1969, in West Valley City, Utah. He passed away on June 13, 2026 surrounded by friends participating in an activity he loved. As the oldest of a large and loving family, Greg naturally became someone his siblings looked up to and cherished throughout his life.

Greg graduated from Granger High School, where he participated in wrestling and developed the determination and work ethic that would characterize his life. Following high school, he served a mission in Venezuela for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He developed a lifelong love for the Spanish language and culture, and he delighted in speaking Spanish with anyone willing to join the conversation. Greg graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Utah.

Greg had one marriage in life and from that marriage had two wonderful children Connor and Meagan Jonas.

Greg spent many years working for Winder Dairy as a delivery driver and salesman before continuing his successful career in sales with General Distributing Company. He took great pride in his work and was known for putting his customers first. Greg believed relationships mattered, and his clients often became friends because of the genuine care and attention he gave to others.

One of Greg's greatest passions was learning. He loved reading, especially books about history, and could spend hours discussing what he had learned with family and friends. He had an incredible memory for details and enjoyed sharing stories, facts, and insights from the books he loved.

Family was at the center of Greg's life. Some of his happiest moments were spent with those he loved, whether enjoying movies and lunch with his father, gathering for dinner at his mother's home, or reconnecting with family members during special occasions. He recently treasured a trip to Disneyland with his father and siblings, where they celebrated his father's 80th birthday and created memories that will be cherished forever.

Greg was also an avid collector of comic books and memorabilia from his favorite movies and stories. He enjoyed the excitement of finding a new addition to his collection and loved sharing those interests with others. He had a lifelong appreciation for adventure and the outdoors, including visits to Yellowstone National Park, hunting and fishing trips with family, and more recently pursuing his SCUBA diving certifications.

Greg had a special love for animals, especially his beloved cats, Letty and Ty. They were his constant companions and brought him tremendous happiness. He adored them, cared for them deeply, and often spoke of them with affection. Letty and Ty were truly his world, and they brought comfort, laughter, and companionship to his daily life.

Above all, Greg will be remembered for the way he made people feel.

He possessed a larger-than-life personality that could fill any room with energy and laughter. His enthusiasm for life was contagious, and his positive outlook lifted those around him. Greg was genuinely interested in people. When he asked how you were doing, he truly wanted to know. He listened, cared, and made others feel valued, heard, and important.

His kindness, compassion, generosity, and ability to connect with people were remarkable gifts. He was the type of person who could become your friend within minutes of meeting you. Whether through a thoughtful conversation, a shared laugh, or a simple act of kindness, Greg left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

Greg loved life, loved people, and most of all loved his family. His absence leaves a tremendous void, but his example of kindness, optimism, and genuine love for others will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Greg is preceded in death by his brother Don Romrell; his step-mother, Glenda Romrell; his step-father Del Greg Jonas; his grandparents, Ralph and Nola Bulkley, Ramona Bulkley, Rollo and Amelia Romrell.

He is survived by his loving parents, Dian (Terry) Stewart and Lee (Martha) Romrell; his children, Connor Jonas and Meagan Jonas; his siblings, Loni (Adam) Hernandez, Amy (Andrew) Lawrence, Craig (Charla) Romrell, and Emilee (Trent) Hawkins; his step-brothers, Kristopher Stewart, Kyle Stewart, and Jordan Campbell; his step-sisters Katie (Sean) Betts, Camille (Sara) Campbell, Brittney (Harry) Woolboy; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were made better by knowing him.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the friends, first responders, and medical personnel who rendered lifesaving aid and compassionate care. Their efforts, professionalism, and kindness during a difficult time will never be forgotten and brought comfort to those who love Greg.

Though Greg's earthly journey has come to an end, his legacy of kindness, friendship, laughter, and genuine love for others will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
