Glenna Alama

December 24, 1949 — February 3, 2023

Glenna Alama returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father surrounded by family on the morning of Friday, February 3, 2023, at the age of 73. She was born on December 24, 1949 in Anaconda, Montana, to Glenn and Montana Johnson. As a child she lived in Roosevelt, Utah, and was raised in Midvale, Utah. She graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1968 and had many close friends that she kept in contact with. She met her love of nearly 47 years during a church activity while attending BYU-Hawaii and they were later married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on March 6, 1976.

As a youth she spent many summers and weekends in Roosevelt on the family's homestead farm, planting and harvesting grain and learning how to attend to calves and little piglets. She would share stories about the hard work it took and the fun she and her sisters would have.

She worked for many years in different capacities including at the Church Office Building, and Jordan School District, but her main priority was always to be home for her family. She loved her boys and always made time to be with them. She was a whiz in the kitchen and always had a dish to share. Her greatest hobby was unselfishly serving others.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many church callings including Relief Society President for her ward and stake.  She also supported David during his time as Bishop of their ward before his passing.

As her family grew to include daughters-in-law and grandkids, she loved to travel, and took many road trips with her family and sisters. She enjoyed going on day trips with the grandkids and a highlight of any trip was a visit to a temple.

She is survived by her two sons, Jonathan (Jodi) and Brian (Jenny) and six grandchildren, Isaiah, Max, Elizabeth, Lily, Kayla, and Isabel. She is preceded in death by her husband, mother, and father.
