Glenda Walker

February 20, 1943 — August 11, 2025

Born February 20, 1943, in Fillmore, Utah, Glenda Mae Peterson Walker passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 11, 2025.

She is survived by her loving husband, James O. Walker; her children Jeri Warner, Jeff (Sherrin) Warner, Russell (Rahjaun) Warner, Doug (Beverly) Warner, and Kim Warner; her stepchildren James (Ellen) Walker, Stephen (Christine) Walker, Cathy Walker, David (Laurie) Walker, Richard Walker, Gary (Carolyn) Walker, Will (Holly) Walker, and Christopher (Carrie) Walker; her sister, Micky Robison; her brother-in-law, Kent Frampton; 44 grandchildren; and 51 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reed and Pearl Peterson; her sisters Sammy Harward and Sandra Frampton; her brother-in-law Joe Harward ; and other beloved family members.

Glenda never met anyone she didn't love. She radiated unconditional kindness, making everyone she encountered feel seen, valued, and cherished. Her love for her family was unwavering, and she fought courageously to remain with them as long as she could.

Many of her in-law children have shared that, though they were not "huggers" before meeting her, they quickly came to treasure her warm embraces. If anyone tried to leave without a hug, she would call out, "Aren't you forgetting something?"-and they would return for that signature Glenda hug. She often reminded her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren how special they were, asking, "Why do I love you so much?" to which they would joyfully reply, "Because I'm so special."

Glenda married Farrell Morgan Warner in April 1962, and together they raised five children before later divorcing in 1985. On October 5, 2001, she married James O. Walker, instantly embracing his eight children as her own and loving them from the very first day.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Glenda served faithfully in many callings, including Young Women's President, Relief Society President, Primary President, and Cub Scout leader. One of her lifelong dreams-to serve a mission-was fulfilled alongside her husband James in the Granger North Stake from February 2014 to April 2015.

Glenda's talents and passions were many. She loved crocheting afghans, hot pads, Barbie clothes, and Christmas stockings for her family, and she faithfully sent birthday cards to children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren until her health no longer allowed it. She never missed a sporting event, recital, or play her loved ones were in, always cheering the loudest. She enjoyed horseback riding, side-by-side rides, gardening, baking (especially her famous pumpkin rolls), and sharing her creations with others.

She earned her cosmetology license in 1963 and continued to do hair until the age of 78, often going the extra mile to visit clients in their homes or offering rides to those unable to drive.

Glenda leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and joy. Though her absence leaves an ache in many hearts, her warmth and influence will live on in the countless lives she touched.
