Glenda Turner Jones

January 9, 1945 — February 7, 2021

Glenda Turner Jones, 76 said her final goodbye to her earthly body on February 7, 2021, suddenly.

Born January 9, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Vera Davies and William Frank Turner. She was an avid lover of the outdoors and a big thrill seeker spending years hunting, fishing, and camping.  Many memories riding horses, 4-wheeling in her truck, riding her motorcycle or in the seat of her son’s ATV in the Glamis Sand Dunes trying to catch air at 73 years old! She was a shining light to all she met. Anyone who knew her felt loved and accepted. She had a lot of fun introducing herself as Glenda “the good witch”. She loved animals and was a hard worker. She even went to beauty school. She worked for many years for Geneva Rock until she retired in 2005. She loved her Geneva Rock family.

Married William Ronald Pepper in 1962 and was blessed with her son Michael in 1963, later divorced. Married Gary M. Arnold in 1967 and they brought Robert into the world in Frankfurt, Germany in 1971. During her marriage to Gary, she was a military wife who traveled where the Army sent them. When the family could no longer travel together Glenda and her boys made a home in Utah and she raised them alone for many years while her husband was away in the Army. She taught her sons the example of hard work and determination. She always put on a smile and persevered through all the hard parts of life. Never a complainer. She was a doer.

December 20, 1997, she married the love of her life Winslow D. Jones. With this union they combined a very large, blended family with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. During their marriage they would spend winters in Yuma, Arizona where they gained a second family. They decided together to come out of retirement and in the summer, they would work together hosting campsites where she continued to take care of campers and campgrounds. Her final two years in the campground she mowed the campgrounds, she loved it, it was never just a job to her. It was a joy, doing truly what she did best. Taking care of others.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; brother Bob; husband Gary Arnold; step-son Ricky Jones; and daughter of choice Cozann Johnson.

Survived by her husband, Winslow; sons Michael and Robert(Angela)Arnold; daughters, Leah, Linda, Lisa; sister Kathleen(Joe)Myers; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
