Ginger Rose Reed Alexander, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, having just turned age 89.
Born on May 1, 1937, in Melbourne, Arkansas, Ginger lived a life defined by deep faith in God, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. A wholehearted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was a prayerful and spiritually attuned disciple of Jesus Christ whose beliefs guided her daily life and relationships.
Ginger's love for her family was at the center of all she did. As a mother, she offered unconditional love, support, encouragement, and care.
She was known for her compassionate service to others throughout her life. Whether through quiet acts of kindness, service within her church community, or simple moments of listening and care, Ginger consistently reflected Christlike love. Her example of humility, generosity, and enduring faith through trials, disappointments, and adversity touched many lives and will continue to inspire her descendants.
She is survived by her children and loved ones, who carry forward her remarkable legacy. Children: Sabrina Wilkinson (Joel) of Orem, Utah; Ryne Reed (Wendi) of Gilbert, Arizona; Hyatt "Whit" Reed (Annamarie) of South Jordan, Utah; Carter "Bracken" Reed (SaraJane) of Stevensville, Montana. Her nine grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren were always in her thoughts and prayers. She is also survived by her sister Mary Tansy of Tacoma, Washington; and husband, Jack Alexander of Gilroy, California.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elvona Westmoreland Rose, father Zack Babe Rose, brothers Jack Rose, Charles Rose, Glen Rose, and sister Joan Rose Wheadon. She is also preceded in death by her first husband Jay Reed.
Ginger found joy in a daily mug of hot chocolate, hugs from family, walks in nature, beautifying her home and yard, and an appreciation of quality literature and the visual arts. She was passionately engaged in geneology research and served three full-time family history missions after retiring from a career in the insurance industry. In her golden years, Ginger was delighted to find her second husband, Jack Alexander, who was a source of great joy, love, and contentment.
She will be remembered for her keen mind, pragmatism, her strong testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and her enduring kindness.
A service to honor Ginger's life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at The Gathering Hall at 4306 South Redwood Road., Taylorsville, Utah. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. with the memorial service starting at 11:30 a.m.
