Gilbert Easton Blake

June 7, 1953 — June 19, 2022

Our beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend peacefully returned home to our Heavenly Father. We were able to honor his amazing presence in our lives and wish him a Happy Father’s Day one last time on June 19, 2022. He is now at rest, and out of pain. We are sure he had an amazingly happy reunion with all his loved ones who have gone before.

He was born June 7, 1953 in Burbank, California. He spent most of his life in Taylorsville, Utah lovingly raising his children near his family farm property. He was the oldest of 7 children. He met his beautiful wife and was sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple.

He lovingly served the Lord in many capacities. He enjoyed serving with the youth. He served three missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Guatemala/El Salvador Mission, as well as a building mission in Atlanta, Georgia and most recently served as a senior missionary in Detroit, Michigan. He had an unwavering faith, and was a great example of selfless service, and love towards others.

He was a very successful entrepreneur owning many successful businesses, with many educational achievements. He was adventurous and lived life to the fullest. He loved to travel the world and explore. His favorite place being Guatemala where he served his mission, and found a great love for the land, and the people.

He had a love for old cars, and car shows. He was a constant place of security, and comfort for his family. He was always full of jokes with a bright smile and loads of laughter! He was a light, and joy to be around. We will forever be grateful and feel a void of his presence. The light that he provided will forever be missed.

Gilbert battled the last few years with various medical challenges. Complications from a brain tumor was the ultimate cause of his unexpected loss. The only way to take sorrow out of death is to take love out of life. We are forever grateful for the love he has provided us, among countless others.

He is survived by his wife Joye; children: Kristopher (Natasha), Xela (Kuco), Kamaron (Carly), Joseph (Gina), Alexander (Valeri), Andrew (Raevan); 20 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; siblings: Lauralee “Lolly” (Glenn), (Gary), Barlow (Kristy), Leslie (Ed), Lani (Ma’afu), Leeann (Ropate); and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Easton and Barbara, Sister Lisa and 3 beloved nephews; Daniel, Spencer and Bryce. .
