Gilbert Albert Martinez

Gilbert A. Martinez 1940-2011 Gilbert Albert Martinez, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all, died October 8, 2011 at the age of 70. He was born November 30, 1940 in El Rito, NM to Malaquias and Tiofila Martinez. Married Dian Lundquist August 5, 1958. He worked for Kennecott Copper Corp for 33 years as a miner. Spent many years coaching and participated in the World Senior Games for 18 years. He had a great sense of humor and was always happy to help a neighbor. Survived by his wife, Dian; sons and daughters: Lamar, Kellie, Tina, Todd and Jason; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 6 brothers; 3 sisters. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where viewings will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
