George William Tyson

January 26, 1936 — May 20, 2011

George William Tyson 1936 ~ 2011 George William Tyson passed away peacefully on May 20, 2011 in Murray, Utah. George was born on January 26, 1936 in East St. Louis Illinois to William Arthur Tyson and Willie Myrtle Ponder. He married Evvie Tyson on July 11, 1957 in whirlwind romance story of a wedding. George and Evvie loved each other and knew that they were soul mates from the beginning and would not take no for an answer from her parents. So, they ran away to Tijuana, Mexico to elope and returned to the United States as husband and wife. To make it official they remarried on their anniversary one year later. After the sudden passing of Evvie Ann he remarried, several years later, to Arlene Judd where they were married for 15 marvelous years. George was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved each and every one of his Sweeties. George had so many different angles to him; he loved the Utah Jazz, was a talented painter, and his 1933 Dodge Truck won many awards at car shows throughout Utah. George was a very wonderful man, who had a kind heart that was always full of love and laughter. He could put a smile on anyone s face, and he will be greatly missed. We love you and look forward to the day when we will be able to see you again. He is survived by three children; William Perry Tyson, Matt Wayne Tyson and Lela Jane Hiatt, seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. We wish to give a very special thanks to the staff at IMC Hospital for making his passing a gentle one. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 2:00 p.m. at the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road with a viewing 1-1:45p.m. prior to funeral services.
