George Peart

October 10, 1946 — April 26, 2023

George Arthur Peart passed away on April 26, 2023 in his home after a long illness. He was the oldest son born to Richard and Chris Peart on October 10, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He grew up in Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming graduating from Kemmerer High in 1966. He served a Mission in Scotland for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and remained a faithful member

. After returning home, he married his sweetheart, Lucy Margaret van Uitert in the Salt Lake Temple on April 10, 1969. As a newlywed, he served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged as Sergeant.

He enjoyed outdoor activities, travel, and art. He is survived by his wife, daughter (Stacie), brother (Steve), sisters (Paula and Pat), and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother (Richie), and sisters (Lynda, Nancy, and Peggy).

Family and friends are invited to attend the Graveside Service, held on Saturday, May 6, at 11:30 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S Redwood Rd, Taylorsville, Utah. Viewings will be held Friday, May 5, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd., and Saturday, May 6, from 10-11 a.m.

Luncheon to follow the services at the Bennion 14th Ward Building at 6550 S. 2700 W., West Jordan, Utah.
