Gail Lee Anderton Young

Gail Lee young, beloved wife, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, December 4, 2021. She was born February 25, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charlotte and Bob Anderton. Gail married Terry Allen Young on September 10, 1970, in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a very caring and loving wife, sister, and aunt.

Gail and Terry did most everything together. She enjoyed their season tickets to Real Salt Lake. She loved golf, scuba diving, gardening, bowling, and playing the accordion. Gail loved celebrating the Holidays and decorating her home.

She enjoyed traveling with Terry. Her favorite places to go were Palm Springs, Australia and Antarctica, among other wonderful places. She loved taking walks with Terry through the neighborhood. Gail loved her dogs Whiskey, Saint and Amy. They were very special to her.

She worked many years for Union Pacific Railroad as a paralegal. She received an associate’s degree from the University of Phoenix Business College. She was also secretary for the Senior Citizens Group. Gail was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings. She loved her ward members dearly.

Gail was preceded in death by her grandparents; mother; father; and stepfather. She is survived by her husband Terry; sister Shirley (Robert) Peterson; and many nieces; and nephews.

The family would like to thank the many friends and ward members for their unselfish acts of kindness through service and friendship. We know she is in a wonderful place of peace and rest. We would also like to thank the doctors and nurses and staff at Legacy Village for their loving care of Gail and to all those who will participate in remembering her life.

Funeral services will be held, Monday, December 13, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Valley Park 2^nd Ward, 5233 South 3200 West, Taylorsville, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to services from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
